Denim Day Buttons

From its inception, Denim Day has always been about bringing people together - in solidarity - supporting survivors, and spreading awareness and education. Make a social statement with your fashion statement, an early and long lasting message of the campaign, is often used to encourage individuals to wear denim with purpose. Early on, Peace Over Violence added signature buttons as an additional fashion statement, adding to the outward commitment people made leading up to and on Denim Day. Throughout the years, the buttons have taken on different shapes and sizes, and included different messaging to meet the times, but always with the intention of proclaiming support and sparking conversation.

There is no exuse - in any language

As the No Excuse campaign was added to Denim Day, it quickly became a popular and powerful message. There is No Excuse and Never an Invitation to Rape. This turned into a new button and immediately it was one of the most sought after items. As new excuses were added every year to the campaign, new buttons were also created - There is No Excuse And Never An Invitation to Rape - in different languages. Now there are 12 language buttons available in Armenian, ASL - American Sign Language, English, Farsi, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, and Zapotec! These buttons are currently all available in our Every Button Bundle on our shop and will continue to be a part of the history and future of Denim Day fashion.

We know this; we see this. There are Denim Days in Chile, in Mexico, in England, in Ghana, and all around the world. There is no excuse; wearing jeans with a purpose is an international message.  We proclaim it in any and all languages and continue to work together toward a world free from violence.
